GREATER LONDON SUPERGROUP SAYS DON’T HURRY, IT CAN HAVE A DETRIMENTAL EFFECT ON YOUR WELLBEING AND WE WOULDN’T WISH THAT SO – PLEASE – TAKE A MOMENT AND STOP HURRYING SO MUCH. JESUS!
Speedvark has a new single, ‘Hurry’. It was written for a friend of theirs, a lovely guy called ‘Trevor’ (real name witheld).
Trevor (real name witheld) had a period in his life, like most of us, when he was under a load of pressure: big job, young family, too little time and high expectations from himself and those around him. In the end he had a small car accident, en route to work, involving a recycling bin belonging to the local borough council.
The small accident woke Trevor real name witheld up: life is precious. People are precious. Bins are precious. We don’t always need to load ourselves up with so much pressure. Trevor real name witheld realised that his hurried schedule was not giving what he wanted out of life: fulfilment, happiness, time to enjoy friends, family – life, dammit.
Trevor real name witheld realised he didn’t need to hurry so much and so he changed, for the better.
Too much pressure and something has to give; in Trevor real name withheld’s case a small claim on his car insurance, an inoperable dustbin and no doubt a frustrating hike in the following year’s motor premium.
Trevor RNW was one of the lucky ones. A member of Speedvark was recently under so much pressure he was forced to divorce his wife.
So this song is dedicated to anyone out there who is hurrying too much. Speedvark’s message is simple: Don’t.
And this message is delivered through the medium of song, which the band hopes you’ll enjoy.
